Facilities
The English Department has 6 halls for classes most of them are equipped with overhead projectors and portable e-learning equipment. Two of the rooms are equipped with round table setting for active learning. The Department also has two computer labs with an 80-user capacity at a time and a small specialized library. The Department has access to different other facilities in the University such as the University auditoria, the University libraries and some other recreational and extracurricular facilities.
Industry
The department's program meets the requirements of the local community, the industrial sector, and the service sector in the country. That is considered as a clear example of the integration between our academic program, which the English department introduces, and the needs of the public and private institutions, such as schools, factories, and banks.
In addition to that, one of the main goals of the department is to graduate students who are able to interact with others and realize their own needs; that can be achieved by focusing attention on different communication skills. Moreover, the department arms students with the required creative and critical thinking skills through its academic program to make them meet the expectations of any institution they may work at in the future.
Teaching and Learning
Moodle: it designs courses that give students the opportunity to work and learn through technology and the Internet.
Evaluation Methods:
- Written Exams: they are based on memorizing, analyzing, structuring, and critical thinking.
- Oral tests in some courses that require this kind of testing like communication courses.
- Research and scientific achievement as in Seminars and other courses.
