The course further expands the student's knowledge on pharmacology, toxicology and pharmacotherapy, and applies both prior and newly acquired knowledge on real-life situations. Particular attention will be paid to the way in which the expertise and knowledge of the pharmacist can be put to the service of the patient and of other health care providers.

Students in this course will learn the types of cosmeceutical products and how they are used and their different types. International companies in the field of cosmeceutical products will be discussed. Various potential health effects of such products will also be studied. The students should be able to know the fundamental of cosmeceutical sciences to provide the information necessary to convey proper counseling to consumers looking for pharmacists’ consultation. Emerge from this course with knowledge of cosmeceutical products regarding their nature as well as formulations, indications and unwanted effects.

In this course, physiological, pharmacological and therapeutic considerations will be discussed with relevance to special populations such as pediatric, pregnant women and geriatric patients. Common diseases and therapeutic approaches of these health problems will be discussed.

This is a non-prescription medication course in a pathophysiological approach in which the skills of the students in this field will be developed. Students will expand their skills in assessment of patient’s physical complaints and their signs and symptoms, determining the conditions that require self-treatment or need medical attention, help in the proper selection and the appropriate use of products, and monitoring of outcomes of nonprescription drug therapy.

In this course, the students will learn about medical devices in community pharmacies, particularly those used in blood pressure and blood glucose monitoring as well as devices used in asthma patients. Disposables commonly encountered in community pharmacy will be discussed. Advancement in technology pertaining to community pharmacy devices will be covered as well.

This course helps the students to be familiar with the application of epidemiologic methods and biostatistics to the study of both positive and negative outcomes associated with medications. The practical implications of research in this course will be emphasized.

In this course, the WHO guidelines and indicators of rational use of medicines in the community will be taught. Indicators of rationality will be discussed. National healthy policies used to rationalize community drug used will be discussed. Economic and health impact of RUM will also be discussed. Concepts of EDL, STG will be emphasized.

This course describes functional foods and nutraceuticals, including their safety, efficacy, and their development. This course also assesses the relationship between the functional foods and nutraceuticals with food and drugs. In addition, the regulatory issues that affect the development and commercialization of functional foods and nutraceuticals in global markets are highlighted.

In addition, current issues affecting Regulatory Affair will be discussed during the course. Moreover; it would focus on registration of pharmaceutical, nutraceutical and cosmetic products. It will also elaborate on the registration guidelines and explain the main component of Common Technical Documents (CTD and eCTD) used in the registration of cosmetic, nutraceutical & pharmaceutical industries.

This course deals with psychological issues, cognitive, and social processes of patients and customers in community pharmacy. The significance of professional communication skills in the pharmacy field, the various media used in communication, communications barriers will be discussed in the community pharmacy settings.

The aim of this course is to familiarize students with computerized pharmacy management systems that should be undertaken in all pharmacy practice settings. Students will survey a full spectrum of business practices required for pharmacists who practice in a community pharmacy. Topics in this course include strategic planning and marketing management, evaluating the financial performance of a pharmacy, material management, drug supply, developing marketing plans to offer innovative pharmaceutical care services, and accounting.

This course will provide the opportunity for students to discuss and learn more about the followings: adverse drug reactions, (mechanisms, prevention and their monitoring), epidemiology, classification and systematic reviews of adverse drug reactions, drug interactions (epidemiology, mechanisms and prevention) beneficial drug interaction, and methods of pharmacovigilance. Understand the system-based causes of medication errors in community pharmacy. Causes and prevention of medication errors in printed prescription. Error-prone in abbreviations and dose expressions.

In addition, this course highlights new research developments about working mechanism of substances that cause developmental disorders, and uniquely organized according to drug class and indications to offer authoritative clinical content on potential adverse drug effects

This course provides an introduction of pharmacy related public health and community care in Palestine. The course covers topics including history of disease state management, preventable diseases, sanitation, and national drug policies. Through case studies; students can use and improve their problem solving skills.

This course is designed to familiarize the student with available sources for locating drug information needed for everyday practice in community pharmacy and to help students develop skills needed to effectively utilize these sources.

This course is designed to give students an in depth information on substance abuse and treatment modalities for addiction. Potential drug classes that could be misused by patients in the community pharmacy will be discussed. Students will be taught how to work with patients with addiction problems. Misuse of weight loss products and body building products will also be discussed. Students will be taught how to screen for potential drug miss-users and substance abusers.

Biological drugs and their therapeutic uses will be discussed. Focus will be made on biological drugs encountered in community pharmacy. Precautions, method of administrations, and safety of biological drugs will also be discussed.
