A six-person jury selected the winners for this year’s Nada Atrash Prize for Creative Writing during an award ceremony at Dar Al-Kalma University on Saturday, September 25, 2021. The ceremony was attended by Dr. Loay Abu Alsaud, Assistant Professor of Archaeology at An-Najah University's Department of Tourism and Archeology, and Mr. Khaled Al-Husseini, Director of Public Relations Department at An-Najah University.


Dr. Abu Alsaud was ranked first in the Nada Al-Atrash Prize for Creative Writing 2021 in the field of Palestinian cultural heritage, which is organized by the Dar Al Sabagh Diaspora Studies and Research Centre - Centre for Cultural Heritage Preservation (CCHP).

Dr. Abu Al-Saud won the award for his research titled "Survey and Excavation Results from Tall Sufan and its Surrounding (Western Nablus, Palestine)", which included the results of the archaeological surveys and excavations that he supervised from 2013 to 2020 at Tell Sufan, West of Nablus, Palestine.

Commenting on the occasion, Dr. Abu Al-Saud said, "Thanks to all the organizers. I am truly honored to receive this award. It is an even greater honor to be placed in such distinguished ranks as those of the past honorees."

It is worth mentioning that Nada Atrash Prize for creative writing is a Palestinian national prize established by Mr. George Al Ama and Dar Al-Sabagh Centre -Centre for Cultural Heritage Preservation in 2016. It aims to emphasize on the continuation of research and writing in the field of cultural heritage in an attempt to strengthen the Palestinian narrative and identity.
