An-Najah’s Public Health Department Becomes Full Member at the Association of Schools of Public Health in the European Region (ASPHER)
The Public Health Department of An-Najah’s Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences has recently become full member at the Association of Schools of Public Health in the European Region (ASPHER).
Being a full member, the department will have the right to vote in the association elections although this right is only given to EU countries recognized by the World Health Organization.
On this occasion, Dr. Hamzi Al-Zabadi, Head of the Public Health Department said that this achievement will allow the university to create international and European partnerships in terms of education, research, training and academic and research projects.
He thanked An-Najah administration and the deanship of the Faculty of Medicine for their consistent support to the department’s staff and students.
He also mentioned that the application for membership took place on June 1st, 2017 in France where he traveled to give a presentation on the department’s history, achievements and activities.
ASPHER is the key independent European organization dedicated to strengthening the role of public health by improving education and training of public health professionals for both practice and research. The association was established in 1966, and it includes more than 110 European public health schools as members.
