An-Najah National University won first and sixth places at the Economic Empowerment Competition for Projects of Palestinian higher education institutions' Female Students. The competition is part of Women's Empowerment and Local Development Project (WELOD 3).


The competition was launched by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, in cooperation with the Palestinian Employment Fund and funded by the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation in Jerusalem.

Student Rawan Riad Abu Diak won first place for her initiative titled "Virtual Experimental Scientific Laboratories for Schools with funding of up to 3000 euros. Student Dalia Jamal Sawalha, won sixth place with funding of up to 2000 euros.

Notes:

WELOD 3 aims to increase the opportunities for the socio-economic development of Palestinian women and to protect their rights through two budget support components addressed to the Ministry of Women's and the Ministry of Social Affairs.
