Two outstanding students from An-Najah National University, Muhammad Akar and Sojod Jamous, have earned the opportunity to participate in the upcoming International Quantum Computing Hackathon to be held in the United Arab Emirates this April. Their achievement follows their remarkable performance in the Second Palestinian National Quantum Computing and Artificial Intelligence Hackathon, where Muhammad Akar secured the first position, and Sojod Jamous claimed the fifth position among 109 participants from various academic levels in Palestinian universities.


Dr. Muhannad Haj Hussein, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology, expressed his delight at this distinguished accomplishment, underscoring its significance amidst the continuous success of the university's students. He emphasized that this achievement reflects the determination and diligence of the students and further solidifies the university's standing on the international stage.

Members of the hackathon preparation and judging committee, Dr. Anas Tohme and Dr. Othman Othman, highlighted that this success aligns with the vision of the Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology and the university's commitment to engaging students in local and international competitions. They stressed the importance of such competitions in equipping students with versatile skills and commended their consistent excellence in these events, extending their best wishes for global success.

The upcoming international hackathon in the United Arab Emirates aims to delve into quantum computing and artificial intelligence techniques and algorithms. Participants will leverage these technologies to address everyday challenges and contribute to the development of solutions in areas such as health, education, business, and science. The event holds particular significance in serving the broader Arab world and the global community.
