An-Najah Achieves Notable Progress in the 2026 SCImago Global Rankings
An-Najah National University has achieved a new milestone in the 2026 SCImago Institutions Rankings (SIR), recording notable progress at the national, Arab, and global levels. This advancement reflects the University’s continued development in research performance and its growing academic standing.
The SCImago Institutions Rankings (SIR) is one of the leading international ranking systems evaluating the performance of higher education and research institutions based on three main indicators: Research, Innovation, and Societal Impact (including digital visibility), using data indexed in global databases.
At the Arab level, An-Najah National University advanced from 103rd place in 2025 to 85th place in 2026, marking a rise of 18 positions and reflecting a clear improvement in its competitive standing among Arab universities.
Globally, the 2026 results also show an improvement in the University’s overall performance indicator compared to the previous year, alongside positive stability in the research dimension and gradual progress in societal impact, highlighting the effectiveness of the University’s policies in supporting research productivity, international publication, and institutional visibility.
The results also demonstrate the University’s strong multidisciplinary presence, with competitive performance across several fields, including Business, Management and Accounting; Economics and Finance; Energy; Agricultural and Biological Sciences; Medicine; Physics; and Psychology, underscoring its status as a comprehensive academic institution with broad disciplinary strength.
This progress is the result of the continuous efforts of the University’s leadership, faculty members, and researchers to enhance the quality of scientific research, expand international collaboration, and promote innovation and community engagement.
The University administration affirmed that these results serve as a motivation to continue advancing in international rankings and to further strengthen An-Najah National University’s position as a leading higher education institution at both the regional and global levels.
