Workshop on Interview Skills
On Sunday, April 21st 2019, the Continuing Education Unit in collaboration with the Competency Development Unit at An-Najah University organized an Interview Skills Workshop. The workshop was facilitated by businessman and training expert Mr. Muammar Shabib, CEO of Arab Road for Consulting & Training Company.
The workshop was held at An-Najah's Korean Palestinian IT Institute of Excellence conference room in the New Campus. It was organized for the university fresh and future graduates.
The workshop aimed to equip the university students, graduates and job seekers with knowledge and techniques to effectively tackle the interview process, and leave a positive impression with their prospective employer by reinforcing their strength, experience and appropriateness for the job in question.
Moreover, the workshop focused on preparing participants for future interviews through examining the different stages of interviews: the opening, the exchange of information, the closing, and the follow up.
Participants learned more about the principles of competency-based management and the challenges of selection. They also gained insight into how to present themselves professionally through their CVs, dress code and behavior.
Mr. Shabib noted that every year, thousands of fresh graduates get frustrated searching for a job because of their lack of preparedness. He added that some graduates assume that appearing for an interview doesn’t require any preparation and underestimate its importance, consequently failing to make an impression on the employer.
The workshop was concluded with a question and answer session with the audience.
