The Agence Française Universitaire (Francophone University Agency) in Beirut is thrilled to announce the launch of a remarkable contest for French-speaking women entrepreneurs in the Middle East. The contest aims at supporting innovative projects by women entrepreneurs from the region, specifically focused on Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) and start-ups. With a grant of up to 10,000 euros, this contest seeks to empower and foster the growth of French-speaking women entrepreneurs in the Middle East, with a special invitation extended to talented women from Palestine.


Contest Details

Eligibility:

To qualify for the contest, your project must meet the following criteria:

  • Innovativeness: Your project should embody a non-technological or technological innovation.

  • Uniqueness: The product or service you offer must be new to the target market, without any equivalents currently available.

  • Novelty in production: The method of producing your goods or providing services should be new.

  • Novelty in raw materials: The raw materials used in the production of your product or service should be new.

  • Novelty in outlets: Your proposed distribution channels for the product or service should be new.

  • Validation: Your project must have been validated by a sample of your target audience, with evidence provided through questionnaires, interviews, focus groups, or other validation methods.

  • Competitive analysis: Your project should have undergone a competitive analysis to effectively address existing competition, whether direct or indirect.

  • Growth potential: Your project must demonstrate growth potential and long-term replicability.

  • Financial viability: Your project should be financially viable and profitable.

  • Business concept maturity: Your submission must exhibit a clear and well-developed business concept.

  • Language requirement: Applications and submissions must be in French.

  • Thoughtful planning: Your project should be carefully thought through.

  • Establishment age: Your project should be less than two years old.

  • Job creation potential: Your project must demonstrate potential for job creation.

Incubation Support and Benefits 

The winners of this contest will receive comprehensive support through a six-month incubation program. This support includes training, coaching, accommodation, and more. It is important to note that the costs associated with the incubation program, amounting to 15% of the grant, will be deducted accordingly. The incubation period will provide an exceptional opportunity for the winners to refine and develop their projects, with guidance and resources offered throughout.
