An-Najah National University, represented by its president, Prof. Abdel Nasser Zaid, and the Palestine Public Finance Institute (PPFI), under the leadership of Mrs. Nihad Younes, Director General of the Institute, joined forces on Monday, June 19, 2023, in signing a momentous Memorandum of Understanding (MOU). The signing ceremony was attended by Mr. Ghassan Namrouti, Financial and Administrative Director of PPFI, as well as representatives from the University including Dr. Raafat Al-Jallad, Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Social Sciences, Dr. Ghassan Daas, lecturer at the Faculty of Economics and Social Sciences, and Miss Yamama Daoud, Acting Director of the Public Relations Department.


This collaborative agreement holds significant importance as it seeks to equip students with the necessary skills to thrive in today's competitive job market, particularly in the financial and administrative sectors. Aligned with the University's vision of strengthening partnerships and striving to achieve sustainable development goals, such agreements pave the way for mutual growth and progress.

The primary objective of this partnership is to develop new and specialized training programs that advance the public financial management system in Palestine. Both parties have committed to cooperating in the development of university courses focused on public finance and taxes, as well as in the field of research and studies. The collaboration will also include the organization of scientific conferences, seminars, and workshops, along with the exchange of valuable experiences.

Established in 2011 through a partnership between the Ministry of Finance and the French government, the PPFI operates under the umbrella of the Palestinian Ministry of Finance. It is dedicated to building and enhancing skills and competencies, expanding knowledge, and promoting the principles of sound governance. By providing the latest training programs and continuing education opportunities, the Institute plays a pivotal role in improving public financial management in Palestine.

This joint venture between An-Najah National University and PPFI signifies a crucial step towards fostering academic excellence and bolstering the public finance landscape in Palestine. It is anticipated that this collaboration will pave the way for transformative advancements, empowering students and professionals alike to contribute effectively to the sustainable development of the nation.
