On Wednesday, March 1, 2023, An-Najah National University, in collaboration with the Directorate of Education in Nablus, launched the International Science and Engineering Fair Contest 2023 in Palestine (ISEF 2023).


The fair was kicked off with an impressive opening ceremony attended by a distinguished group of guests, including Dr. Abdul Salam Al-Khayat, Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Saida Affouneh, President's Assistant for Digitalization and E-Learning and Dean of the Faculty of Educational Sciences and Teacher Training, Dr. Maen Ishtaiwi, Vice President Assistant for Academic Affairs for Scientific Faculties, Mr. Ahmed Sawalha, Director of Education in Nablus, Mr. Bassam Naim, Director General of Technology at the Ministry of Education, Mr. Musa Abu Raad, Head of the Technology Department at the Directorate of Education, Dr. Mona Haj Yahya, Rapporteur of the Arbitration Committee, Mr. Iyad Al-Aqraa', Director of Student  Affairs, and Ms. Yamama Daoud, Acting Director of the Public Relations Department at the University.

The fair featured 54 pilot projects developed by students from various schools in Nablus, covering a range of topics such as medicine, energy, environment, technology, engineering, and programming.

It provided a platform for school students to showcase their talents and creativity and foster their passion for science and technology. Several school students visited the fair and were impressed by the high-quality and innovative projects on display. The winners of the contest will be announced during the closing ceremony, scheduled to take place on Thursday, March 2, 2023, at the Zafer Al-Masri Auditorium in the University’s Old Campus.

ISEF is an annual fair that aims to promote science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) education and inspire the next generation of innovators in Palestine. 

The event is a testament to the strong collaboration between An-Najah National University and the Directorate of Education in Nablus, highlighting their commitment to promoting innovation and scientific research among Palestinian students.
