The President of An-Najah National University, Prof. Abdel Nasser Zaid, and Eng. Khaled Fares, CEO of Al-Nabali and Al-Fares Holding, signed an MOU about research cooperation and expertise ‎exchange both parties in the fields of engineering and practical training to reinforce sustainable partnership between them on Sunday, September 25, 2022.


The agreement seeks to coordinate the efforts between the two parties to effectively reinforce sustainable partnership between them in terms of supporting the University students’ pioneering projects in the fields of engineering, promoting expertise exchange and joint training programs and activities in engineering.

It also includes offering an annual scholarship titled: “Eng. Khaled Fares Scholarship” for high school graduates to study engineering at An-Najah National University as part of Al-Nabali and Al-Faris Education Support Program. 

Prof. Zaid expressed his happiness for meeting the guests and stressed the importance of mutual cooperation between An-Najah and Al-Nabali and Al-Fares Holding. Also, he briefed the guests about the University’s international rankings and other academic achievements, strategic plans and programs as well as the various specializations it offers.

“The MoU is in line with An-Najah’s vision of being a leading university in Palestine through the pursuit of excellence in teaching and research. The main goal of the MoU is to initiate joint projects involving collaborative research and share expertise and joint development.” Prof Zaid said.

Eng. Fares commended An-Najah's role as a leading university in ‎Palestine and for the strong academic relationships it cultivates with ‎institutions around the world. He also expressed hope that ‎they will ‎establish cooperation in different fields with the aim of enhancing engineering higher education in Palestine.‎

Following the MOU signing ceremony, Eng. Khaled Fares shared his success story with the University IT and engineering students after graduation from An-Najah University. He also gave an overview about the engineering profession and the future of engineering in general.
