An-Najah Discusses Means of Mutual Cooperation with Stavanger University
On Wednesday, September 07, 2022, Prof. Abdel Nasser Zaid, President of the University, received at his office a delegation from the University of Stavanger and Nablus society of Stavanger, Norway headed by Mr. Øyvind Kirkhus, President of Nablus Society in Stavanger. The delegation included the Institutional Coordinator for Erasmus+ from Stavanger University, Olga Fagerland, and members of the Nablus Society of Stavanger and was accompanied with Eng. Naseer Arafat.
The delegation was received by Dr. Abdul Salam Al-Khayat, Vice President for Academic Affairs, and Dr. Saed Al-Koni, The President's Assistant for Logistics and Infrastructure Affairs, and Dr. Amjad El-Qanni, Scholarships Coordinator at the University, and Mr. Khaled Al-Husseini, Director of the Public Relations Department, and the International Affairs Coordinator at the University Ms. Summer Abu Mughli.
The meeting aimed at strengthening existing collaboration in different areas and discussing means of cooperation and academic, cultural and professional exchange between An-Najah and Stavanger in terms of conducting joint development projects and academic programs in different fields including health sciences, science, engineering and renewable energy. It also aimed at expanding mobility cooperation in other fields.
Prof. Zaid welcomed the delegation and briefed them on An-Najah history, academic programs and talked about higher education in Palestine in general. He thanked the delegation for keeping in touch with the University and commended the Norwegian government’s role in supporting An-Najah on different levels.
The meeting included discussions about research cooperation and promote expertise exchange and joint programs. The delegates expressed their delight for being at An-Najah again and wished that the visit would result in new academic cooperation in different educational areas.
