The Physics Department Participates in SESAME's 17th Annual Users’ Meeting
The Physics Department at An-Najah University, represented by Dr. Hadil Abualrob, Head of the Department and Member of the National Palestinian Committee for SESAME Project and Dr. Ahmed Bassalat, staff member at the Physics Department, participated in Synchrotron-light for Experimental Science and Applications in the Middle East (SESAME) 17th Annual Users’ Meeting in Jordan.
The meeting gathered 80 scientists from different parts of the world at SESAME to discuss the scientific program and latest research results from the users for projects carried out at SESAME.
An-Najah delegation discussed setting an academic and research collaboration plan between An-Najah University and SESAME which will include creating training opportunities for students of physics and other scientific fields. They also discussed the possibility of developing the first magnetic measurements laboratory at SESAME, which was the output of the second international workshop on synchrotron radiation and applications which was held at An-Najah University on March 31st to April 1st, 2019.
The Physics Department has different contributions to the collaboration with SESAME as many of its students were sent to conduct research at SESAME and held a biannual international workshop on synchrotron radiation and related applications.
