The symposium hosted Mr. Hannes Alpen, Director of Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung Palestine Office and a representative of the European Commission Office in Palestine.

The symposium focused on a number of topics, most important of which are how populism swept through Europe, right-wing parties winning elections in Europe as well as EU's political role in the Palestinian cause and the criteria that guide EU's foreign policies towards the Palestinian Authority and the Palestinian cause.

At the end of the symposium, the guest speakers answered the students' questions on the topics discussed.
