An-Najah National University has recently participated in the OpenMed "Opening up Education in South-Mediterranean Countries" final conference in Rome, Italy during October 9 – October 13, 2018.

An-Najah delegation included Dr. Mohammad Al-Amleh, Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Sa'eda Affouneh, Dean of the Faculty of Educational Science and Teacher Training and project coordinator, Miss Fatima Sakhil from the Financial Department and Mr. Ahmed Noubani from the E-Learning Centre.


Dr. Al-Amleh participated in a round table discussion where he talked about An-Najah aspiration to disseminate the culture of open learning and e-learning in the Palestinian community which will contribute to making the University open educational resources freely accessible to everyone. He also talked about the teaching-learning process and the political challenges that face higher education in Palestinian universities.

Dr. Affouneh exhibited future strategic plans that guarantee project sustainability including raising community awareness on open and e-learning and working on producing more open educational resources, e-courses and recorded lectures. She mentioned that the University is currently organizing training workshops on open educational resources for more than 100 students.

It explores the adoption of strategies and channels that embrace the principles of openness and reusability within the context of South-Mediterranean universities.
