An-Najah's Career and Alumni Affairs Unit Organizes a Workshop to Support Small Projects
On Wednesday, August 1st, 2018, the Career and Alumni Affairs Unit at An-Najah National University organized a workshop about the Palestinian youth economic empowerment and promotion program, which is implemented by the Union of Agricultural Work Committees (UAWC), and funded by the Islamic Development Bank, and the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) in partnership with the Ministry of Social Development.
The project aims to fund small entrepreneurial projects with non-refundable grants, and support Palestinian university graduates with a number of unique projects allowing them to sustain themselves and their families.
At the beginning of the meeting, Eng. Muhammad Yasin, Project Coordinator, briefed the attendees about the program which started in 2007, and pointed out that the Palestinian youth economic promotion program succeeded in implementing 1200 projects in the West Bank and Gaza.
"The program aims to improve the economic and social situations for the beneficiaries through providing them with development projects that ensure decent livelihoods and employment opportunities for them and their families." Eng. Yasin said.
During the workshop, Eng. Yasin explained the project requirements and selection criteria.
At the end of the workshop, Director of An- Najah's Career and Alumni Affairs Unit Mr. Rafi Daraghmeh, advised the graduates who attended the workshop to think of entrepreneurial projects that are extraordinary, developmental, qualitative, and profitable. He also advised them to seize this opportunity which provides them with development projects since unemployment has become a chronic problem that touches the income and lives of hundreds of thousands of Palestinian families in Palestine.
