The 1st Conference on Cyber Crimes in Palestine was held on Sunday, April 17th, 2016 by the Faculty of Law at An-Najah in collaboration with Al-Quds University-Abu Dis and as part of the EU funded project, the joint MA programme in criminal law between both An-Najah and Al-Quds University.


The conference was attended by Dr. Ahmed Al-Barrak, Attorney General of the State of Palestine; Dr. Mohammad El-Amleh, Vice President for Academic Affairs; Dr. Adnan Melhem, President’s Assistant for Social Affairs and General Akram Rujoub, the Governor of Nablus.

The conference resulted in the following recommendations:

  • Spreading awareness on cyber crimes and establishing an anti cyber crimes system
  • Matching the established cyber crimes system with the international standards through discussing the system’s initial draft by cyber crimes experts

  • Establishing relevant units equipped with advanced devices and run by experts in various parts of Palestine
  • Reinforcing international cooperation and updating procedural laws to serve victims of cyber crimes
  • Identifying pillars and characteristics of cyber crimes
