Recommendations of the 1st Conference on Cyber Crimes in Palestine
The 1st Conference on Cyber Crimes in Palestine was held on Sunday, April 17th, 2016 by the Faculty of Law at An-Najah in collaboration with Al-Quds University-Abu Dis and as part of the EU funded project, the joint MA programme in criminal law between both An-Najah and Al-Quds University.
The conference was attended by Dr. Ahmed Al-Barrak, Attorney General of the State of Palestine; Dr. Mohammad El-Amleh, Vice President for Academic Affairs; Dr. Adnan Melhem, President’s Assistant for Social Affairs and General Akram Rujoub, the Governor of Nablus.
The conference resulted in the following recommendations:
- Spreading awareness on cyber crimes and establishing an anti cyber crimes system
- Matching the established cyber crimes system with the international standards through discussing the system’s initial draft by cyber crimes experts
- Establishing relevant units equipped with advanced devices and run by experts in various parts of Palestine
- Reinforcing international cooperation and updating procedural laws to serve victims of cyber crimes
- Identifying pillars and characteristics of cyber crimes
