Lessons Learned from Travelling

By: Majd Jamous
During our cultural trip with Zajel to Italy, we visited many interesting places like the Roman Theatre known as the Colosseum, the Vatican museum that is filled with maps, drawings and monuments that represent both the Italian civilization and culture, and the Opera House from which I learned about the importance of music and theatre in their culture. We also visited military castles and the Royal Palace of Naples.
We have learned how to organize and prepare for our trips; like how to buy plane tickets and how to find our reserved plane seats. We have also learned how to use trains and how to buy tickets online.
I was impressed by the charm of Trevi Fountain which many tourists visit daily, and the beauty of Leonardo da Vinci Museum. I made sure that I document everything I see so I never forget it.
Florence was one of the cities I loved the most; it has many skyscrapers and a great history. We drove the Segway all around the city until we got to Arno River which we enjoyed its beautiful scenery. We have also visited Venice which is a very special city that has many amazing islands like Burano and Torcello. Visiting Venice made us feel very peaceful and relaxed.
I noticed how interested the tourists are in learning about the Italian culture and customs. And I have made friends with many Italian people from whom we learned about their culture.
In Italy, unlike Arab countries, people do not meddle in each other’s affairs. They also respect laws and cleanliness and respect other’s beliefs.
I have learned from this trip who I should be and what I want from this life. I came back to my country striving for success and development. I can tell that this trip has made me mature.
