Specifically, the course attempts to ensure an academically acceptable performance on the part of the students at the level of the English basic courses. Exercises on grammar, vocabulary and textual organization are geared towards developing students’ observational and analytical skills that aid comprehension. The course uses an integrated approach which allows for communicative interaction in the class to actively test and broaden the listening and speaking abilities of the students. Furthermore, the acquisition of vocabulary items will be reinforced through their use in written sentences.
