After finishing high school, I was interested in language studies; therefore, I searched for An-Najah programmes which offered at that time Arabic, English, French and Spanish programmes. I chose An-Najah because it is a university of good reputation and is a top one in Palestine. As a native speaker of Arabic, I was interested in studying other languages like English which I was very good at. Thus, I chose to study French to be as French say “trilingue” i.e. trilingual. Being a trilingual allows me to interact with various cultures and develop my lingual skills as well ... my experience as a French major was fascinating as I spent the best four years of my life and made good friendships. And as a top student, I proudly say that the French Department at An-Najah is one of the best

Being a student in the Department of French Language has been an enriching experience as lectures were interesting and well run combining theoretical and practical aspects. The lectures included different topics that encouraged students to engage and learn more about. They also pushed students towards creative reading and analytical and critical thinking. The department organizes regular activities such as the annual Francophone Ceremony and an annual creative writing workshop under the supervision of the French writer Jan Demi. The department’s students also produced several periodic magazines in creative free expression courses. In fact, I had participated in the creative writing workshop twice and was awarded second place once. Since establishment, the French Language Department aims at offering its students an opportunity to practice French in France through dispatching students there and participate in a number of linguistic courses organized in cooperation with the French Consulate General.

إنَ سببَ اختياري لتخصصِ اللغةِ الفرنسيةِ ما هو إلا محضُ إهتمامي وحُبي لتعلم اللغاتِ الحيةِ وهذا ما نطلقُ عليه بالفرنسيةِ مصطلح "Les langues vivantes" ومن منطلقِ هذا التخصصِ فإني أعملُ جاهداً لمتابعةِ دراستي العليا في مجالِ تخصص ِالترجمةِ وذلك للإنخراطِ بسوقِ العملِ. إنَ ما يُميزُ دراسةُ تخصصِ اللغةِ الفرنسيةِ وخاصةً في جامعتي-جامعةُ النجاحُ الوطنيةُ- أنها تمنحُ الطالبَ فرصةً جيدةً لإكتسابِ لغةٍ ثانيةٍ الي جانبِ اللغةِ الأمِ وتساعدهُ ايضاً على ممارسةِ اللغةِ عملياً من خلالِ ورشاتِ العملِ التي توفرها. إضافةً الى ذلك، إنَ هذا التخصصَ يمنحُ الطلابَ فرصةَ الذهابِ إلى فرنسا من خلالِ توفر وظيفةُ تدريسُ اللغةِ العربيةِ للفرنسين في فرنسا " والدوراتُ اللغويةُ. من خلالِ تجربتي، فالأسابيع الثلاثة التي قضيتها في فرنسا خلال الدورة أتاحت لي التعرف على ثقافات أخرى ولا سيما الثقافةِ الفرنسيةِ. وليس هذا فحسب فقد مكنتني من تطويرِ مستواي اللُغوي

حصلت على شهادة التوجيهي بتقدير جيد جدا وآن الأوان لإختيار التخصص المناسب الذي سيقرر مصيري بعد اثنتي عشرة سنة من الدراسة المدرسية. في البداية ترددت في الاختيار بين أكثر من تخصص، لكن في النهاية فضلت تخصص اللغة الفرنسية على غيره من التخصصات. في الواقع اخترت تخصص اللغة الفرنسية لأسباب عدة منها كونه تحصصاً حديثاً بعض الشيء وتتوفر فرص للعمل به مقارنة مع غيره من التخصصات. بالضافة الى ذلك، بطبيعتي أحب اللغات فلذلك أحببت أن أدعم سيرتي الذاتية بلغة ثالثة غير اللغة العربية واللغة الانجليزية التي تعلمتها في المدرسة. فاتقان اللغة الفرنسية الى جانب كلتا اللغتين يعطيني فرصة أكبر للعمل بإحدى المؤسسات الدولية. بعد أن دخلت قسم اللغة الفرنسية وجدته مفعماً بالنشاطات المسلية والداعمة للطالب من ورشات عمل، وكتابات ابداعية، وأفلام، الخ.
