Facilities
The Information Technology Department includes five distinct computer labs, four of which are furnished with 40 computers each, while the fifth lab houses 30 computers. In addition, we have a dedicated network lab that features 20 computers alongside a set of racks containing Cisco Routers and switches. This specialized lab is primarily utilized for networking-related courses.
Industry
The computer science program operates a semester-based committee with a clear mission to establish strong connections between the program and the ever-evolving market and industry. This dedicated committee takes on the responsibility of conducting regular visits to Information Technology companies and organizations. These visits provide valuable insights and opportunities for students to engage with industry professionals, fostering a deeper understanding of the latest technology trends and issues. The committee also actively invites industry experts to deliver presentations, ensuring students stay updated on cutting-edge advancements.
Teaching and Learning
All courses within the program are conducted in English, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of the subject matter. The curriculum encompasses both theoretical and practical components. While theoretical concepts are covered in the lessons, students are also engaged in projects and homework assignments to reinforce their practical skills. By implementing the theoretical knowledge, students gain a deeper understanding of the topics and develop familiarity with the ideas discussed throughout the course. This approach effectively prepares students for their future careers.
Coursework and Assessment
Each course follows a structured assessment approach that includes a series of exams. Typically, courses consist of first, second, and final exams, which are conducted in a traditional paper-based format or through the Moodle platform if the course content allows for it. Additionally, quizzes are administered throughout the duration of the course, providing ongoing evaluation of students' progress. The practical component of the courses is facilitated by the teaching assistants, who actively assist students in their practical assignments and projects.
