The general mission of the program is to advance knowledge and educate students in roads and transportation engineering so as to prepare them well to serve their societies.
The program is structured with basic required courses (15 credit hours) and a large set of elective courses (15 credit hours) that are designed to orient students towards a specific specialized area of Transportation and Highway Engineering. The basic courses cover the basic traffic engineering, infrastructure, planning, basic statistics, and research skills. The elective courses focus on various areas such as traffic operations, transportation planning, or highway engineering. Several elective courses are also available to broaden the students' knowledge in their extended area of interest.
