Organizing the First Workshop in Computational Mathematics and Physics (COMP1)
The Mathematics and Physics Departments at An-Najah National University organized the first workshop in Computational Mathematics and Physics (COMP1) titled 'Approximation and Numerical Methods for Partial Differential Equations' on Saturday, February 15th.
The workshop was led by Dr. Nasser Mohieddin Abukhdeir from University of Waterloo in Canada. Participants included undergraduate and graduate students as well as staff and faculty in the physics and Mathematics fields.
The workshops covered different topics and themes most important are: Interpolation, numerical differentiation and integration, backwards-differencing for ODE-IVPs, Method of Weighted Residuals for ODE-BVPs and Elliptic PDEs and Method of Lines for Parabolic and Hyperbolic PDEs.
It was organized by Dr. Ahmed Bassalat (Coordinator), Physics Department, Dr. Hadil Abualrob, Head of Physics Department, Dr. Hadi Hamad, Head of Mathematics Department, Dr. Muath Karaki, Mathematics Department and Dr. Khalid Adarbeh, Mathematics Department.
During the workshop, Dr. Bassalat announced that MA scholarships are available to the Mathematics and Physics Departments' meritorious students at the University of Waterloo.
