Prof. Abdel-Nasser Zaid appointed to Arab Council for Sustainable Development Management
An-Najah National University, led by President Prof. Abdel Nasser Zaid, has been granted membership on the board of the Arab Council for Sustainable Development, operating under the Association of Arab Universities, for the term spanning 2024-2027. This significant appointment occurred during the fifty-sixth session of the Arab Council for Sustainable Development held at the University of Baghdad in Iraq. Dr. Amr Ezzat Salama, Secretary-General of the Association of Arab Universities, presided over the meeting, joined by directors, presidents, and representatives of member universities on the Association's Executive Council. This underscores the ongoing commitment to fortify collaboration among Arab universities in scientific and academic arenas, bolstering their competitive prowess on both regional and global scales.
Professor Zaid, in response, conveyed his deep appreciation to the Secretary-General and members of the Association for their trust in appointing An-Najah National University to the Arab Council for Sustainable Development. An-Najah National University will act as Palestine's representative in the upcoming session of the Arab Council for Sustainable Development Management. The council's mission is to advance the developmental role of Arab higher education institutions and contribute to instilling the comprehensive concept of sustainable development within the institutional framework of education. Additionally, the council focuses on diagnosing the reality of Arab universities in terms of their societal roles and identifying obstacles hindering their efforts to achieve sustainable development goals.
