An-Najah National University represented by Ms. Amal Barbar of the Office of International Development and External Affairs attended the seventh edition of the UNIMED week which was held in Brussels, from 15 to 17 November 2022.


The UNIMED Week was organized by the Mediterranean Universities Union (UNIMED) and aimed at meeting European and international institutions to learn more about their current and future programs.

The event was attended by Prof. Francisco Matte Bon, UNIMED's President, Prof. Wail Benjelloun, UNIMED Honorary President, Mr. Marcello Scalisi, UNIMED's Executive Director, and a number of UNIMED’s partner universities and institutions.

The week featured a number of speakers who spoke on the value of international academic cooperation and the importance of its development in order to guarantee every student's right to education in all of its forms and to carry out the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal No. 17, which focuses on strengthening the means of implementation and revitalizing the global partnership for sustainable development. The significance of academic and non-academic collaborations and their effects at national, regional, and global levels have been examined and discussed during the event.

Furthermore, the event included a visit to NATO Headquarters in Brussels and the European Parliament focusing on the importance of Euro-Mediterranean academic cooperation through European exchange programs.
