In his opening remarks, Dr. Abdel Salam Al-Khayyat, Vice President for Academic Affairs, emphasized the university’s dedication to fostering community engagement through initiatives that create opportunities for collaboration and mutual benefit between the university and local institutions. He stressed the importance of such events in supporting local talent and stimulating economic growth.

Ms. Summer Abu Mughli from the Office of International Development and External Affairs   underscored the bazaar’s role in providing a platform for small and home-based businesses, especially those led by women entrepreneurs. She highlighted the university's continued commitment to empowering local communities and driving positive economic and social development through its resources and infrastructure.

This bazaar reflects An-Najah’s broader efforts to create long-term, sustainable opportunities that contribute to the well-being of the community, support local businesses, and foster innovation. By encouraging responsible consumption and promoting local talent, the university seeks to play an active role in building a more resilient and inclusive society.

Held in the courtyard of the Faculty of Humanities at the Old Campus, the bazaar will run until December 13, 2022, featuring a wide range of booths that include cultural and heritage displays, youth-led initiatives, as well as stalls offering local food, beverages, and handmade crafts. The event highlights the university’s efforts to support sustainable local development and promote creative and responsible business practices.
