An-Najah National University welcomed an official delegation from the Belgian Consulate in Palestine on Tuesday, January 6, 2026. The delegation included Ms. Anik Van Calister, Belgian Consul in Palestine, and Mr. Ingmar Samyn, Head of the Political Section at the Consulate, accompanied by Mr. Nasir Arafat, Director of the Civil Society Directorate in Nablus Governorate.


The delegation was received by Prof. Abdel Naser Zaid, President of An-Najah National University, alongside the University’s vice presidents and a number of academic and administrative officials.

During the meeting, Prof. Zaid welcomed the guests and presented an overview of the University’s history, academic development, and key achievements. He highlighted An-Najah’s leading role at both local and international levels, with particular emphasis on innovation, digital transformation, and virtual education, as well as the University’s commitment to advancing research, community engagement, and international partnerships.

Ms. Van Calister and the accompanying delegation expressed their appreciation for the warm reception and commended An-Najah National University’s academic distinction and technological advancement. They affirmed the Consulate’s interest in strengthening cooperation with the University in academic, research, and technological fields, and in supporting future collaborative initiatives.

Both sides underscored the importance of continued coordination to explore concrete opportunities for partnership and mutual development.

The visit concluded with a brief tour of the An-Najah Innovation Park, where the delegation was introduced to its role in fostering innovation, entrepreneurship, and community-oriented solutions.
