Funded by the World Health Organization Regional Office for the Eastern Mediterranean, a research team from the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences at An-Najah National University, consisting of Dr. Zaher Nazzal, Dr. Walid Pasha and Dr. Rasha Khayat, in cooperation with a research team from the Palestinian Ministry of Health, consisting of Dr. Bisan Maraqah, Dr. Abdul Rahman Abdul Hadi and Dr. Jrouh Jabareen, recently published a reserach study titled" Prevalence of SARS-CoV-2 antibodies in the Palestinian population: A primary health center-based cross-sectional study".


The study is published in PLOS one, which is a peer-reviewed open access scientific journal published by the Public Library of Science (PLOS) since 2006. The journal covers primary research from any discipline within science and medicine. It aimed to assess the prevalence of severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus-2 (SARS-CoV-2) total antibodies in the north, middle, and south regions of West Bank and the prevalence of SARS-CoV-2 specific antibodies (IgA, IgM, and IgG) in the Palestinian population. Additionally, it included more than 1,200 auditors from primary health care centers in all the governorates of Palestine.
