An-Najah University Leads Groundbreaking Erasmus Plus Project to Transform Bachelor’s Degree Programs in Science Colleges in Palestine and Jordan

An-Najah National University proudly announces its leadership in an innovative Erasmus Plus project aimed at enhancing bachelor’s degree programs in science colleges across Palestine and Jordan. This initiative aligns with the European Bologna Process, reflecting the university’s commitment to modernizing education and supporting governmental efforts to advance the educational system.
Under the direction of Prof. Saed Khayat, An-Najah National University spearheads the project in close collaboration with the ministries of higher education in both countries and the European International Accreditation Agency (EIAA). The project also partners with prestigious Palestinian, Jordanian, and European universities, aiming to implement the European Bologna system in science colleges to meet European education and evaluation standards.
Dr. Khayat emphasizes that this initiative will enable students to complete their bachelor’s degrees in science disciplines more efficiently, providing advanced opportunities for further studies or professional careers. This approach aims to enhance technical education, foster a skilled workforce, and contribute to the local economy by reducing unemployment.
Dr. Kherieh Rassas, Vice President for International Development & External Affairs at An-Najah, highlights that the new system is a priority for the university. It seeks to build bridges of international cooperation with prestigious European institutions and facilitate student integration into modern education systems. This initiative enables graduates to enroll directly in European postgraduate programs without needing equivalency, thus modernizing teaching, evaluation, and learning methods.
Participating universities include Palestine Technical University Kadoorie, the Arab American University, Al-Balqa' Applied University (BAU), the German Jordanian University, and the Jordan University of Science and Technology. The project also involves local and international accreditation bodies, the ministries of higher education, the University of Barcelona, the University of Pisa, UNIMED – the Mediterranean Universities Union, and the Association of Arab Universities.
Prof. Abdel Nasser Zaid, An-Najah President, congratulates the Palestinian and Jordanian ministries on this transformative opportunity. He underscores the university’s dedication to supporting higher education renewal and policy development in the region, reinforcing An-Najah’s leadership role in providing innovative solutions to improve the higher education system.
An-Najah University has secured two capacity building projects in higher education. In addition to the Bologna Process project, the second project focuses on developing programs related to mental health and neurology for children with special needs, further demonstrating the university’s commitment to educational advancement and societal well-being.
