International Science and Engineering Fair Contest 2022 in Palestine: Winners Announced
On Wednesday, March 3, 2022, An-Najah National University hosted the closing ceremony of the International Science and Engineering Fair Contest (ISEF 2022). The ceremony included the announcement of the Fair's Contest winners.
The contest was organized by the Directorate of Education in Nablus Governorate in cooperation with An-Najah. Many prominent figures attended the festival including H.E. Ibrahim Ramadan, Nablus’ Governor; Mr. Tareq Alawaneh, Director General of Education Directorate in Nablus; Mr. Mohammed Wredat, director of Palestine Science and Technology Fair-PSTF in Ministry of Education; and Prof. Abdel Naser Zaid, An-Najah’s President as well as a number of his vise presidents and assistants, academic and administrative staff members, representatives of participating schools and governorates and a large number of students. The contest featured 33 schools with 64 projects.
ISEF is an annual fair which gathers school students to compete and showcase their projects about different science, technology and engineering topics. It is dedicated to expanding scientific literacy, effective STEM education and scientific research.
Palestine Science and Technology Fair-PSTF 2022 was held at the New Campus from march 7-8, 2022. These projects were evaluated by a panel of 37 faculty members from the University based on scientific and professional standards.
Prof. Zaid welcomed the guests and emphasized on the importance of this contest since it offers school students the opportunity to share their creativity. He also asserted that this contest goes in line with the university’s vision and mission to support students’ creativity and innovation.
H.E Ramadan welcomed the attendees and commended An-Najah’s efforts in supporting innovation in Palestine through hosting and organizing different related activities and events.
In return, Mr. Alawaneh pointed out that the Education Directorate encourages students to be creative and innovative with the aim of developing their talents in science and technology, converting their creative ideas into reality, and developing critical minds in Palestine.
