An-Najah's Medical Students Organize Pink October Exhibition
An-Najah National University Federation of Medical Students Association (IFMSA), Nablus, organized the "Pink October" Exhibition under the patronage of the Deanship of Student Affairs and the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences at the University, and under the supervision of Dr. Waleed Basha, IFMSA's Supervisor at An-Najah.
The Exhibition was organized as part of IFMSA's annual activities in October to celebrate breast cancer awareness month. It was inaugurated by Prof. Abdel Naser Zaid, University's President at the main square, New Campus over two days from October 5-6, 2021.
The oppening cermony was attended by Dr. Khalil Issa, Dean of Faculty of Medicine, Mr. Mohammed Daqqa, Dean of Students' Affairs, Student Fadi Albasha, IFMSA's President, and representatives from the National Security, Nablus Chamber of Commerce and Industry, "Anabtawi Group" Company, "Omnibal for Trading & marketing" Company, Seeds Association for development and culture, and "Qamar Event Rentals" Company as well as a number of An-Najah's academic and administrative staff and interested students.
The exhibition aimed to mark breast cancer awareness month and to raise awareness about the importance of breast cancer prevention measures like mammography screening. In support of the month and all that it stands for – resilience, triumph over illness, strength from the community – 40 companies, institutions, food stores and handicraft stores across Palestine came together to fight against breast cancer through financial support and donations benefiting An-Najah National University Hospital's cancer patients.
