An-Najah Holds the First Arabic Language Test for Non-Native Speakers in Greece
On Friday, June 11th, 2016, the Arabic for Non-Native Speakers Programme at An-Najah National University held the first Standardized Test of Arabic Proficiency in Speakers of other Languages at the Technological Educational Institute of Athens (TEI) in Greece.
The test is part of an agreement signed between An-Najah and the TEI and was based on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).
34 students from different parts of Greece sat for the exam which included three lingual levels; namely, A1, A2 and B1 and was over 9 hours.
The test which was written by a number of An-Najah Professors and supervised by others from the Technological Institute will be held biannually at TEI.
It is worth mentioning that the test press release was published by 11 Greek newspapers and broadcasted by the official Greek T.V.

The Arabic Language Test for Non-Native Speakers at An-Najah measures the student’s efficiency and skills in listening, reading, and writing using standard Arabic and concentrates on the academic part of the language more than the other communication skills. It also helps in connecting the student to the current culture of the Arab world.
