Mission

The Communication and Digital Media program aims at offering students the skills required to collect, write, edit, and present of news articles, design print and digital materials, and conduct scientific research serving the priorities of Palestinian society. It also aims at introducing students to the process of data analysis and producing well- qualified graduates capable to work in the field of communication and digital media through an integrated set of knowledge and skills that, when combined, allow students to reach an audience on a deeper level. Also, the program provides solid professional foundations, and allows for hands-on learning. Such graduates should be able to adhere to the ethics of journalism, be able to compete with their counterparts in the region, and be able also to pursue their post-graduate study here and abroad.

 

Vision

The Communication and Digital Media program seeks to be a distinguished and developed academic pioneering program. The program works on qualifying a specialist cadre in both communication and digital media, a cadre which is able to quickly adapt and respond to new media developments, and which is also able to serve the Palestinian, Arab and international audience. It thus aims at producing dynamic media professionals who meet international criteria in the relevant fields.

  • Enriching and Deepening students ' knowledge and understanding through providing high-quality and diversified education.
  • Providing students with a supportive environment that facilitates theoretical learning to enable students to apply theoretical knowledge in real life situations.
  • Teaching students how to demonstrate professional ethics and how to be objective in carrying out their mission.
  • Introducing students to the process of analyzing political, economic and social data.
  • Introducing students to the political systems that control media in the world.

  • Proficiency in digital media programs.
  • Mastering digital photojournalism.

  • Training students on how to obtain news and information from reliable sources.
  • Training students on how to use several journalistic writing models.
  • Employing photojournalism in sustaining and interpreting a text.
  • Dealing with digital events and problems in all circumstances.
  • Building and maintaining a continuous relationship with news sources.
  • Mastering the arts of dialogue and persuasion to deal with a variety of audiences.
  • Mastering the art of time management.
  • Ability to compete with their counterparts to pursue their post-graduate study at the most prestigious and respected universities.
  • Ability to compete with graduates of other universities in the local, regional, and international labor markets.
  • Ability to create, design and produce digital media materials and content.
  • Ability to write digital media materials and demonstrate practical writing skills for digital media.
