Mission

The mission of the Electrical Power Engineering Master Program is to contribute in the progress of the Palestinian community through the development of engineering education and in the field of electrical energy by graduating highly skilled and qualified engineers in the field of electrical power engineering who can compete locally and globally and meet the need of the local and regional markets.

 

Vision

The vision of the Electrical Power Engineering Master Program is to gain national and regional recognition for providing high quality and diversified education, to produce world class engineers with high qualifications who will be successful in their professional careers.

 

Facilities

  • Equipment: Different equipment related to power ‎generation, transmission lines, power factor correction, ‎protection, power electronics, DC drive AC drive.
  • Labs Teaching Manual is available for students.
  • Acquired skills : study the parallel operation procedure , the ‎behavior of TL under different load conditions, power systems ‎protection, power factor correction by using capacitors and ‎synchronous compensators. Study different experiments ‎related to power electronics, DC drive AC drive.
 

Industry

The program has a cooperation agreement with the Northern Electric ‎Distribution Company. This agreement allows students to visit ‎different sites of the company, use different facilities, and cooperate ‎in preparing and discussion of the student Thesis.

 

Teaching and Learning

Teaching and learning methods adopted in this program include ‎lectures, seminars, course projects, student presentations, and home ‎works. All of these include modern technology methods such as ‎modern software, power point and etc.

 

Coursework and Assessment

Assessment criteria includes: Exams (first, second and final), course ‎projects by using modern software, home works and presentations.
