On Sunday, February 19, 2023, the Deanship of Scientific Research at An-Najah National University, held a successful training workshop on employing the ChatGPT model in the educational and research process. The workshop was aimed at providing an in-depth understanding of the ChatGPT model, which is the latest breakthrough in artificial intelligence, and how it can be used to enhance various applications, including language processing and chatbots.


The workshop brought together a diverse group of participants, including faculty members, researchers from various departments within the University, and AI enthusiasts.

It was led by Dr. Ismail Badran from the Faculty of Science and Dr. Ahmed Awwad from the Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology at the University, who provided a comprehensive overview of the ChatGPT model and its capabilities, advantages and disadvantages as well as hands-on experience in building and training a chatbot using the model.

The training also included several interactive discussions that allowed participants to ask questions, exchange ideas, and network with one another. Participants left the workshop with a deeper understanding of the ChatGPT model and how it can be applied to solve real-world problems.

Furthermore, they discussed the latest developments and trends in the field of AI, with a particular focus on its use in the academic sector.

It is worth mentioning that in November 2022, An-Najah University established a dedicated committee to oversee the development and launch of its new website featuring the cutting-edge Chat GPT technology.

By empowering the University’s staff and researchers with the ChatGPT AI model, An-Najah is at the forefront of innovation in the academic world, advancing the frontiers of knowledge and expanding opportunities for the future. With the success of the ChatGPT training, the University is looking forward to organizing similar events in the future for its students and researchers to keep up with the latest developments in the field of AI.
