An-Najah National University along with several higher education institutions from different countries participated in launching the project of portable video conferencing toolkits and online applications for engaging learning experience design in higher education classrooms. The project aims at improving synchronous online and blended teaching, demanded in the context of COVID19 pandemic.


The goal of the project is to enable an educational experience using a portable video-conferencing setup and pedagogically designed activities that are as close as possible to the experience of the face-to-face classroom. The global educational system will ultimately have the required technological setup and the digital, behavioral, and social competencies for engaging online classroom interaction.

The University was represented by Dr. Saida Affouneh, Project Director and Assistant President for Digitalization and E-Learning at An-Najah University, Dr. Suheil Salha, Head of the Department of Curricula & Teaching Methods at Faculty of Educational Sciences and Teachers’ Training, Eng. Areej Abu Obaid, and Mr. Alaa' Naser from the E-Learning Center at the University.

Dr. Affouneh introduced the University's achievements and what should be accomplished in the initial phase of the project which extends from 15 March 2022 to 15 November 2022. She explained the project’s goals, task distribution, means of publication, research methodology, and expected outputs. The University is leading the initial phase of project which focuses on the most essential conclusions of the learning and education technology in the digital world. The project was scheduled to last for 3 years where the most important outputs will be producing a set of tools that help students, teachers, and educational institutions during distance education.

Furthermore, the project includes the participation of a group of different universities, including Danmarks Tekniske Universitet Norges Teknisk, Naturvitenskapelige Universitet (NTNU), Universite D'AIX Marseille, EdTech Denmark, uQualio Aps, MAE FAH Luang Univerity, Universiti teknologi mara (UTM), and University of liberal arts Bangladesh.
