Dr. Ekrima Shehab, the Dean of the Faculty of Humanities at An-Najah University participated in the executive committee of the Scientific Association of Faculties of Humanities in the Federation of Arab Universities, which was held at Al-Mansoura University in Egypt. This annual meeting aimed to discuss the activities and plans of the association, in terms of its budget, administrative structures, and relevant issues of its scientific journal, in addition to the various activities that support the educational field for the participating faculties from across the Arab region.


The two-day meeting holds significant importance on the level of faculties of humanities in the Arab world, as it provides expanded discussions in different relevant issues to the studies of humanities. In addition, this meeting proposes several opportunities for cooperation and academic and research exchange. This meeting included 14 deans from Jordan, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Algeria, Palestine and the UAE.

In addition to the meeting, the faculty of humanities of Al-Mansoura University organized a tour for the key centers of the university, including the kidney institute, which is well-known across the Middle East for its distinguished devices and treatment and care methods. The delegation also visited the vertebrate paleontology center museum that is part of the faculty of sciences. The museum contains vertebrate fossils that date to millions of years ago. The delegation was introduced to one of the discoveries of the museum, which is a new type of dinosaurs that was named after Al-Mansoura University; “Mansourasaurus”.
