Dr. Saed Al-Koni Participates in Conference on Integrity and Governance for SDGs
An-Najah National University, represented by Dr. Saed Al-Koni from the Faculty of Economics and Social Sciences recently participated in an international Conference titled: “Integrity and Governance for Sustainable Development”. The conference was held in Ramallah, Palestine during the period 9-11 December, 2019.
The conference focused on bringing together, at a truly international level, officials, and experts with shared interests in integrity, governance, and sustainable development.
Dr. AL-Koni presented and discussed a research paper entitled: “The expected role of the Palestinian local authorities in achieving sustainable local development, and the requirements of good governance”.
The conference covered different key topics most important are integrity, governance, and sustainable development in conformity with international principles, the national legislations and policies enhancing integrity and governance for sustainable development, experiences and success stories in integrity and governance that enhance sustainable development as well as the Palestinian efforts in achieving the sustainable development indicators: rights and obligations.
It is worth mentioning that the conference was organized by the Palestinian Anti-Corruption Commission, and was attended by international interdisciplinary delegates with a shared interest in sustainable development.
