An-Najah Professor Participates in a Research Visit to the U.K

Dr. Ithar Beshtawi, Head of the Optometry Department at An-Najah has recently participated in a research visit to the University of Manchester and Manchester Royal Eye Hospital in the U.K.
During her visit, Dr. Beshtawi did a research study in cooperation with the University of Liverpool on Corneal Collagen Cross-Linking, a technique which uses UV light and a photosensitizer to strengthen chemical bonds in the human cornea through Nanoindentation technique.
The goal of the treatment is to halt progressive and irregular changes in corneal shape known as ectasia.
Dr. Beshtawi also visited Aston University in Birmingham to discuss possible means of mutual cooperation with An-Najah.
