An-Najah Participates in an International Conference in Portugal
On Monday, March 7th, 2016, Ms Safa’ Hamada, PhD Candidate from An-Najah at Minho University in Portugal participated in the Water Territories CEGOT international conference at the University of Coimbra in Portugal.
The conference was over three days from March 7th-9th, 2016 and was moderated by the Institute of Geography and Spatial Planning in Portugal.
Ms Hamada discussed her research paper titled: “Water Resources in the Palestinian Region of the Jordan Valley”. The paper shed light on the importance of water resources in Palestine and the Jordan Valley and the Israelis abuse for water resources. The paper also compared the water portions offered to Palestinians and settlers and found that each settler consumes 6 times more water than a Palestinian! The paper further discussed the water resources according to Oslo agreement.
