The International Offices’ American Corner Nablus at An-Najah hosted Ms Sanaa Tayyem, Educational Consultant from EducationUSA for a lecture on studying in the United States.


The lecture mainly targeted the students who were involved in the AMIDEAST English Access Micro-scholarship Programme (Access), which is funded by the U.S. Department of State's Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs.

Mrs. Tayyem talked about undergraduate study in the United States for international students; the application process and the TOEFL exam. She also shed light on the programmes offered AMIDEAST for the Access students.

At the end of the lecture, Ms Taim answered the students’ questions on the subject.

  • EducationUSA is a U.S. Department of State network of over 400 international student advising centers in more than 170 countries. The network promotes U.S. higher education to students around the world by offering accurate, comprehensive, and current information about opportunities to study at accredited postsecondary institutions in the United States.
  • Launched in 2004, the Access Programme provides a significant English-language learning experience to bright non-elite 14- to 18- year-old students. The programme also aims at improving students' appreciation of U.S. culture and values, encouraging critical thinking and open-mindedness, and improving performance in regular school classes.
