Sustainable Transportation & Commuting
An-Najah National University is strongly committed to advancing sustainable and environmentally responsible mobility across its campuses. The University systematically measures and sets targets for sustainable commuting, tracking progress in walking, cycling, carpooling, shuttle use, and electric mobility to reduce carbon emissions and improve efficiency. It actively implements and promotes initiatives that increase the share of sustainable commuting, such as campus shuttle services, cycling infrastructure, and facilities supporting electric vehicles.
Moreover, the University prioritizes pedestrian access through the design of safe, shaded, and accessible walkways and pedestrian-only zones that ensure comfort and inclusivity for all campus users. Guided by its Green Campus Plan and continuous monitoring, An-Najah strives to create a pedestrian-friendly environment and a culture of sustainable mobility that supports the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and reinforces its leadership in campus sustainability.
