An-Najah Student Association Hosts Interactive Climate Change Workshop
The Student Association for Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) at An-Najah National University, in collaboration with the Arab Youth Green Voices Network, organized an interactive workshop titled “Climate Fresk Workshop” on Wednesday, 13 August 2025, at the Faculty of Science meeting hall. The initiative aligns with the University’s vision of advancing the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly in the areas of quality education, climate action, and partnerships for achieving the goals.
The workshop was opened by Mr. Iyad Al-Aqra, Director of Student Affairs, who welcomed Eng. Raghad Abu Hattab, Activities Coordinator at the Arab Youth Green Voices Network. He commended the network’s role in supporting university students through conferences and initiatives that raise environmental awareness and encourage active engagement with global issues.
He also praised the efforts of the Sustainable Development Association in promoting and advancing the Sustainable Development Goals through its diverse activities, emphasizing the Deanship of Student Affairs’ strong commitment to supporting such initiatives. He further acknowledged the University administration’s continued support for student-led activities.
The workshop was attended by Mr. Basheer Zamel, Association Supervisor; Lubna Houshiya, President of the Association; members of the administrative team; and a number of interested students.
The session focused on climate change and global environmental challenges, exploring their causes and impacts. It also included a series of interactive activities and educational games that enabled participants to map out climate-related scenarios and identify practical solutions to mitigate their effects. The workshop fostered constructive discussions among participants, reflecting students’ growing awareness and their commitment to environmental protection and sustainable development.
