Construction and Transportation Research Unit

The Construction and Transportation Research Unit, situated within the Scientific Centers of An-Najah National University, was established with the primary objective of representing the university in a diverse range of services. These services encompass comprehensive research activities, commencing with meticulous examinations and culminating in the production of thorough reports and research papers. Additionally, the unit provides consulting services, offering financial support for projects that necessitate the specialized expertise and competence available within the unit.

The unit operates through its testing unit and scientific committee, which undertake a wide array of services, including conducting laboratory tests for asphalt, concrete, and soil, while also preparing detailed reports. Moreover, the unit actively engages in competitive bidding processes, enabling it to extend consultancy services to both the private and public sectors.

By fulfilling its mandate, the Construction and Transportation Research Unit acts as a representative entity for the University, ensuring the provision of top-notch research services and expert consultancy. With its testing capabilities, scientific expertise, and competitive bidding initiatives, the unit serves as a reliable partner in meeting the research and consulting needs of clients in the fields of construction and transportation.

Our vision is to excel in providing high-quality research and advisory services in the fields of construction and transportation, addressing the pressing societal needs and contributing to sustainable development. We strive to establish standards and foundations that ensure safe designs and implementation conditions for construction building works, as well as highway and transportation projects.

Our mission is to be at the forefront of research and advisory activities, conducting innovative studies and providing expert guidance to promote safe and sustainable practices in the construction and transportation sectors. We aim to contribute to the development of efficient and resilient infrastructure, while addressing the environmental, social, and economic challenges of our time. Through our work, we seek to enhance the quality, safety, and sustainability of construction and transportation projects, ultimately benefiting society as a whole.

  • Actively pursuing international, regional, and local research projects, with a particular focus on globally significant areas such as green buildings, green and smart transportation. This includes establishing collaborations with institutions that share similar interests and expanding our involvement in external examinations.

  • Investing in state-of-the-art equipment to conduct tests that may not be readily available locally, ensuring the highest quality standards for the construction of structures and roads.

  • Enhancing communication channels with key organizations, businesses, and individuals in our field through the establishment of memorandums of understanding, regular meetings, workshops, and direct and indirect contacts.

  • Facilitating better interaction and synergy among the various units within the Urban Planning and Disaster Reduction Centre, optimizing the utilization of internal human resources.

  • Engaging with external stakeholders and international partners to establish long-term and financially sustainable collaborations on projects of mutual interest.

  • Utilizing diverse media platforms for effective marketing and promotion of the unit's services, building upon previous efforts.

  • Strengthening cooperation with municipalities, governmental institutions, and other local entities to foster collaborative initiatives and address shared challenges in the field of construction and transportation.

  • Actively participating as an impartial arbitrator in resolving disputes and disagreements related to engineering projects, leveraging our expertise to ensure fair and just outcomes.
