An-Najah National University Hosts the National AI Robot Olympiad
In a significant effort to strengthen its strategic collaboration with the Ministry of Education, An-Najah National University recently hosted the final qualifiers for the 2024 National Olympiad for Robotics and Artificial Intelligence (Pal-NRO). This event, held at the university’s new campus, represented the regional arbitration stage and saw participation from education directorates across the northern region, including Nablus, Qabatiya, Tubas, Jenin, and Qalqilya. Unfortunately, the Tulkarm and South Nablus Education Directorates were unable to participate.
This event highlights the successful partnership between An-Najah National University and the Ministry of Education, under the supervision of Dr. Muna HajjYahya from the Faculty of Science. A total of 27 teams competed across various robotics categories.
The Directorate of Education in Nablus fielded 10 teams, of which 8 successfully advanced to the next stage. These teams will receive practical training and advisory support as they prepare for the national competition, which is scheduled to take place on August 26, 2024.
The university ensured a fair and competitive arbitration process, facilitated by graduates from its Department of Computer Engineering, who played a key role in evaluating the participating projects and robots. Their contributions significantly enhanced the quality and integrity of the competition.
The Olympiad offers a valuable opportunity for students to develop essential skills in modern technology, while fostering innovation and critical thinking. An-Najah National University’s hosting of this event underscores its shared commitment with the Ministry of Education to advancing the educational process and creating an inspiring, competitive environment for future generations.
