The last session of the “Writing Grant Proposals for Young Palestinian Researchers” training course was held in Ramallah from November 8 to 11, 2021. It aimed to help participants from different Palestinian universities including An-Najah National University create their own research proposals to submit for funding bodies at the end of the course.

This course was prepared and designed by Dr. Ithar Beshtawi, Dr. Mohammad Abuabiah and Dr. Ihab H. Alsurakji from An-Najah National University, Miss Suha Al Butmeh from Al-Quds University and Dr. Omar Abu Abed from the Arab American University under the supervision of regional experts, Dr. Nisreen Houry from Lebanon and Dr. Samer Raddad from Palestine.

The training included three phases. The first one was held in June via zoom, then it was followed by several e-meetings in July. The third phase of the course was concluded with a face-to-face meeting in August. It included an evaluation process based on international criteria to examine the research proposals submitted by the participants.

This course is supported by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), the DIES ProGRANT Coordination Center at the University of Cologne and local partners.

The training included the participation of Ms. Sara Marlen from the University of Cologne, representatives from Palestine Academy for Science and Technology, including Dr. Ayman Daoud, and Ms. Evelyn from DAAD.
