An-Najah University and Defense for Children International Launch Strategic Partnership to Advance Child Justice and Rights in Palestine
In a step to bridge academia and community work, An-Najah National University, led by President Pro. Abdel Naser Zaid, signed a memorandum of understanding with the Global Movement for the Defense of Children, represented by Director-General Lawyer Khaled Quzmar, on April 17, 2025. The agreement launches a strategic partnership focused on advancing children's justice and addressing the specific needs of Palestinian children.
The collaboration includes forming a specialized research team, exchanging expertise, and implementing extracurricular programs to equip students with practical skills, foster cultural dialogue, and encourage community engagement all in support of children's rights and the rule of law.
Pro. Zaid noted that this memorandum reflects the University’s ongoing commitment to sustainable development and its continuous efforts to promote social justice and human rights, particularly in matters concerning children. He also emphasized the importance of involving students in practical programs that build their awareness of rights and empower them with the tools needed for positive societal change.
Similarly, Mr. Quzmar highlighted the significance of partnering with Najah University, praising the institution as a pioneering force in education capable of making a tangible impact on human rights issues, especially those related to children. He added that this collaboration will help infuse human rights values into academic work and foster field initiatives that promote justice and strengthen the rule of law.
