An-Najah University's Community Service Center Concludes Firefighting and First Aid Training Courses


In a commitment to fostering a safer community, the Community Service Center at An-Najah National University recently concluded two specialized training courses in firefighting and first aid, targeting university students. The courses were conducted in collaboration with the Nablus Fire Department and the Community Youth Training Center at Medical Relief, equipping participants with critical emergency response skills.
Firefighting Training Course
The firefighting course, attended by 32 students, emphasized fire response strategies, fire prevention measures, concepts of ignition and extinguishing, and safe evacuation protocols. Under the guidance of Issam Saleem, Training Coordinator at the Nablus Fire Department, participants gained practical knowledge to effectively manage and mitigate fire-related incidents.
First Aid Training Course
The first aid course, attended by 45 students divided into two groups, covered essential medical emergency topics such as handling cardiac arrests, addressing loss of consciousness, managing head, spinal, and neck injuries, treating bleeding and fractures, and clearing airway obstructions. Supervised by paramedics Mohamed Hawash and Omar Al-Baz from the Community Youth Training Center at Medical Relief, the course provided hands-on experience in critical life-saving techniques.
Both courses aimed to empower students with the knowledge and skills to respond effectively to emergencies, ensuring they are prepared to handle diverse challenges in real-world situations. This initiative underscores An-Najah National University’s commitment to community safety and student development, reflecting its dedication to proactive engagement and social responsibility.
