An-Najah participates in the Closing Ceremony of the Arab Innovation Network’s Scholarship for Excellence in Education and Development (SEED)
An-Najah National University participated in the Scholarship for Excellence in Education and Development’s closing ceremony which was held in Ramallah under the patronage of Prof. Mahmoud Abu Mwais, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research and with the support of Ibrahim Siyam Industrial Group. The ceremony included the announcement of the winners of the Scholarship for Excellence in Education and Development (SEED). The event was attended by representatives of Palestinian universities and participating students as well as other notable figures.
SEED was launched by the Arab Innovation Network (AIN) in Palestine. It aims to improve access to education and to provide students with the educational opportunities they need to prepare themselves for a better future. SEED Scholars are selected on the basis of educational excellence, character, charitable work, and leadership potential.
About 140 students from six Palestinian universities in the West Bank and Gaza Strip including An-Najah University applied for the scholarship when it was launched in October, 2021. About 30 students have been qualified to participate in the final challenge which focused on solving a public problem, provided that the solution must achieve seven goals of the SDG goals.
17 out 30 students from An-Najah University were qualified to participate in the final stage. The scholarship was awarded to 7 students from the University out of 8 winners.
The closing ceremony included screening a video about AIN and its regional achievements over the past 10 years. It also included a video about SEE and its executive team.
It is worth mentioning that the scholarship was launched in Palestine through an academic partnership with six Palestinian universities: An-Najah National University Al-Quds University, Birzeit University, Palestine Technical University Kadoorie, the Arab American University, Palestine Polytechnic University.
